History

Yesterday

Established as an engineering firm near Stuttgart on 3 May, 1954, LUTRO Luft- und Trockentechnik GmbH has developed to a leading supplier of high-quality painting and drying plants over the last 50 years.

In 1961, already a few years after its establishment, the company moved to the newly-built headquarters in Stetten, which is part of the city of Leinfelden-Echterdingen.

Step by step the own production capacities have been extended, including a production plant for insulated wall, door and gate elements, which was the most modern of its time. As one of the first manufacturers of combined painting and drying plants worldwide, LUTRO managed to early change its production from the processing of sheet metal to the more economic and high-quality use of coated sheet steel coils, with widths of up to 1500 mm. It became possible to fully automatically cut, level, true and insulate basic plant components in the scope of an integrated production process.

Today

Already since our establishment, our worldwide export activities have been very important for us. Indeed, the very first painting plant manufactured by LUTRO was delivered to Eindhoven in Holland.

At present, the average export rate of our company is approx. 60% which is mainly based on the consistently high quality, the uncompromising industrial standard and the low-maintenance operation of our plants.

Today LUTRO painting and drying plants are preferred whenever absolute precision and reliability of surface treatment processes are needed. Our plants are not only used in numerous painting and refinishing centres of famous automotive manufacturers such as Audi, BMW, DaimlerChrysler and Volkswagen Group, but also for the production and refinishing of luxury and sports cars such as Maybach, Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren.

We do not disappoint our customers who trust in us and therefore most of our customers have been faithful partners of our company and our products for many years. As if to proof this, numerous production plants all over the world are currently built, e.g. for the CKD-production of Mercedes-Benz in Vietnam, for the production of Liebherr construction machines in China, for the production of Putzmeister concrete pumps in Shanghai or for the licence production of Scania buses in Iran.

Tomorrow

Shareholders of our company are now the Buchmann and Krouzilek families, the latter one already being represented in the second generation by the son, Daniel Krouzilek, Oliver Buchmann and the son-in-law, Ralf Dürr-Krouzilek.

Together with a staff of 80, both generations commit themselves to the further, future-oriented development of the company as a supplier for plants and services for surface treatment, to the development of new, forward-looking technologies and to the perpetuation of our traditional philosophy and principles, which over all these years have made us one of the most successful companies in our sector.
